Eating out in Phuket

Western and Chinese foods are available in toursit hotels and along some leading beaches such as Patong, Kata, Rawai and Chalong Bay.
Here are some of Phuket’s delicious you should not miss.
- The Khanom Jeen (Thai rice noodles) eaten with a curry sauce made from minced fish or shrimps, fresh and preserved vegetables. It’s also delicious when taken with Tai Pla (fish viscera) curries, beefs curry or crab curry. It’s a typical breakfast for the people in Phuket.
- Mee Hokkian or Mee Hun (Amoy noodles) fried with shrimps, prok, shellfish and green cabbage.
- Mee Sapam (orgiginating in Sapan Village) which are noodles with seafood and gravy.
- Ho Mok, it’s a curried fish or seafood dish with coconut milk steamed inside a banana leaf cup.
- Nam Prik Kung Siap, it’s Phuket style hot fermented shrimp paste sauce with sweetened crisp shrimps dip eaten with fresh and steamed vegetables.
- Pineapple called ya-nat by local people, Phuket’s pineapple is sweet, juicy, and not so soft and is expensive.
